The Department of Street Cleaning and Waste of the Crevillent City Council has launched a campaign to raise awareness about the correct use of the free collection service for bulky items.

The campaign will be disseminated over the coming days through municipal social media and various graphic designs displayed on public information points throughout the town. The aim is to remind citizens of the importance of requesting the collection of bulky items in advance, thereby preventing their abandonment on public streets.
The initiative uses a creative approach with three anthropomorphic items: Simón the mattress, Ramón the armchair, and Enriqueta the pouf. These characters discuss their fate after homeowners buy new furniture, reflecting the reality of many items being left on the street.
Under the slogan “They Were Your Beloved Belongings. Don't Leave Them Dumped,” the campaign aims to remind people that a simple phone call can ensure these items are properly collected.
The Councilor for Street Cleaning and Waste, Pedro García Magro, highlighted that in the last seven months, 138,100 kilograms of bulky items, including 871 mattresses, have been abandoned. He emphasized that this problem affects the appearance of the streets and disrupts the planning of other municipal services.

"What would it have cost to make a simple phone call?"
