The city of Elche will feature a nighttime bus service for its patron saint festivities this year, taking place between August 8th and 14th. This initiative, extending the service by one day compared to last year, aims to promote sustainable mobility and safety, enabling residents from districts and neighborhoods to participate in the celebrations without needing to use private vehicles.
The service will comprise 8 nighttime routes: three urban lines (N1, N2, and N3) connecting peripheral neighborhoods with the city center, and five for the districts (NP1, NP2, NP3, NP4, and NP5) serving the main urban centers with flexible schedules.
Urban lines will operate from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM with continuous frequency. Line N1 will cover the Carrús and Toscar neighborhoods; N2, El Plá, Llano de San José, and Sector V; and N3, Altabix, Travalón, Estadio Martínez Valero, and the University. All will have central stops at Doctor Caro street or Puerta de Alicante street.
Regarding the district lines, they will depart from the city center. NP1 will go to Matola (11:00 PM - 5:00 AM); NP2 will pass through La Hoya and La Marina (11:45 PM - 6:20 AM); NP3 will serve Las Bayas (11:25 PM - 6:10 AM); NP4 will cover Valverde, Balsares, El Altet, and Arenales del Sol (11:00 PM - 6:00 AM); and NP5 will reach Torrellano (11:00 PM - 5:25 AM).
Passengers can use available passes, free tickets, or a special ticket for 1.45 euros. The manager of Autobuses Urbanos de Elche, Ángel Luis Andreu, stated that departure stops may vary due to street closures for the festivities. This information will be available on festesenelche.es, the Movilidad Elche app, or the social media channels of the bus company and the City Council.
