Reina, a researcher at iuCID, has carried out athlete evaluation and classification tasks, a fundamental process in Paralympic sport to determine eligible impairment and assign a sport class based on its impact on specific modalities. He is also involved in observing athletes' performance and movement patterns.
He is part of the classification advisory group for World Para Athletics and is developing audiovisual training materials for international classifiers, focusing on coordination impairments (series 30) and physical impairments (series 50).
This activity has direct application in university training, supporting master's thesis projects in the UMH Master's Degree in Sports Performance and Health, connecting international experience with specialized training in Paralympic sport.
Furthermore, technical meetings have been scheduled to discuss potential adaptations of the regulations to the new International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Classification Code, in which Reina has participated.
The V Para Asian Games bring together delegations from 45 Asian countries with approximately 3,500 athletes across 18 disciplines, establishing it as a significant international event in Paralympic sport.
