Professor Andrzej Piotrowski from the University of Gdańsk (Poland) visited the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) in Elche to teach on leadership and teamwork in sports, as part of the Erasmus+ program.

The Polish lecturer's stay included training activities for students in the UMH's Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFD). He also held a scientific meeting at the Institute of Bioengineering to explore new avenues for collaboration between both institutions.
Piotrowski, an expert in Psychology, delivered the class "Team Building in Sports" to fourth-year CAFD students. The session, overseen by UMH professors Eduardo Cervelló and Carlos Montero, emphasized the importance of group cohesion, communication, leadership, and coordination for managing sports teams and enhancing collective performance. This participation offered students an international perspective on team management and the application of psychology to sports.
The teaching mobility aims to strengthen UMH's international cooperation and promote the exchange of knowledge and methodologies among European universities. Professor Piotrowski, who holds a PhD in Psychology since 2009, also leads the Unit of Penitentiary Psychology and Social Rehabilitation at the University of Gdańsk.
During his visit, the Polish professor also met with Enrique Roche, a professor from the UMH's Nutrition Area, at the Institute of Bioengineering. The objective was to exchange ideas to identify potential scientific and interdisciplinary cooperation lines, reinforcing international academic networks.
The visit was facilitated by UMH Nutrition professor Néstor Vicente Salar, who has collaborated with Piotrowski for years on scientific work related to psychology applied to sports. This relationship exemplifies the value of collaborative networks in enriching scientific perspectives and generating new joint initiatives.
