The Science Park of Miguel Hernández University of Elche (PCUMH) and the Altea City Council have renewed the Altea Emprende program, which will run for the fifth consecutive year in the town.

The managing director of the PCUMH, Tonia Salinas, and the Councilor for Commerce and Entrepreneurship of the Altea City Council, José María Borja, signed the agreement. Also attending were the Director of the Entrepreneurship Area of the PCUMH, Javier Sancho, and the Commerce Technician of the Altea City Council, Pepi Durá.
In previous editions, Altea Emprende has had nearly 200 participants and over a hundred projects. The eighth edition will offer networking, workshops, mentoring, and awards for entrepreneurs and newly created start-ups. Participants can compete for 2,000 euros in prizes, 75% discounts on PCUMH prototyping services, and the chance to participate in the UMH Start-up Marathon.
The program is part of Emprende UMH, an initiative by Miguel Hernández University, managed by its Science Park, aimed at assisting city councils and public institutions in the province to promote entrepreneurship and business growth. This initiative is currently implemented in other local areas to foster socio-economic well-being.
