Orihuela Social Services Offers 1,647 Places for Senior Workshops

The Social Services Department of the Orihuela City Council has opened registration for the 2026-2027 course, offering 1,647 places in a wide variety of workshops for the municipality's elderly residents.

The Social Welfare department, led by Agustina Rodríguez, has presented the workshop program which will take place in the urban center of Orihuela, as well as in 20 districts and the coast. The offer includes activities such as memory workshops, computer skills, mobile device and new technology management, healthy cooking, sewing, and painting.
Additionally, adapted physical activity options are included, such as gerontogymnastics, dance, yoga, and Pilates, designed to promote active and healthy aging. These activities aim to maintain and improve participants' cognitive and physical abilities.
For the 2026-2027 course, a total of 1,647 places have been made available. Data from the previous year indicates that each participant attended an average of 1.68 workshops, and 91% of users maintained or improved their physical and/or cognitive condition.
