The Department of Infrastructure, led by Víctor Valverde, in collaboration with the Department of the Coast, managed by Manuel Mestre, and through the municipal company Servicio de Gestión Medioambiental de Orihuela S.L. (ECOPLAN), has carried out road maintenance work in the vicinity of Avenida de las Brisas.
One of the notable actions was the comprehensive repair of a large sinkhole on the public road. This hole, previously covered with metal sheets and fenced off to prevent risks, had been obstructing the use of a pedestrian crossing.
The work involved repairing the beams supporting the sidewalk, constructing a 20 m² slab to cover the hole, and adding two 'ears' to improve visibility at the pedestrian crossing.
Additionally, all horizontal road markings on the main street and adjacent ones have been repainted, including six pedestrian crossings on Avenida de las Brisas and the existing parking area. The project is completed with the installation of new vertical signage.
The Mayor of Orihuela, Pepe Vegara, inspected the completed work and stated, "As we promised, we continue to resolve long-standing problems." He added, "We are aware that these small actions are fundamental to improving the quality of life and accessibility for residents, which is why we will continue to systematically implement them throughout the municipality, especially along the coast."
