The distinction highlights the combination of natural resources, beaches, and outdoor leisure activities offered by the municipality. Among the notable spaces are the La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park, as well as various beaches and coves such as La Mata, Cabo Cervera, Los Locos, El Cura, Los Náufragos, and Cala Piteras.
In addition to the natural environment, the city has infrastructure such as the Parque de las Naciones, Parque de La Siesta, and the S-61 Delfín Floating Submarine Museum. The offer is complemented by the Vista Alegre Promenade and a cultural and leisure program that remains active throughout the year to facilitate visitors' stays.
To improve the tourist experience, the municipality has a specific Children's Guide. With this addition, the town joins other destinations in the Valencian Community that already have this recognition, thus reinforcing its position as a benchmark for family tourism on the Mediterranean coast.
