The program targets young users of Municipal Social Services or those in situations of social vulnerability. As explained by the Councilor for Social Services, Agustina Rodríguez, the project responds to a demand from families, young people, and sector professionals.
The main objective is to provide a space for coexistence, learning, and fun during the summer, promoting personal development and active participation through educational, sports, environmental, and healthy leisure activities. The initiative reinforces the department's commitment to values education, equal opportunities, and the prevention of social exclusion.
Leveraging the natural environment of Orihuela Costa, the activities will foster healthy lifestyle habits, teamwork, coexistence, and respect for the environment. Throughout July, participants will enjoy sports, nature, creativity, and values education in a safe environment supervised by four Municipal Social Services professionals.
Among the planned activities are a day of water sports at Campoamor beach (surfing, paddle surfing, bodyboarding) and intergenerational workshops with seniors at the Alameda del Mar Civic Center to foster creativity and the exchange of experiences. An excursion to an adventure park with zip lines, kayaking, and quad biking is also included.
The program also features workshops on clothing customization, crafts, and artisan work, a visit to a climbing wall with an introduction to climbing and bouldering, and team-building games. As a finale, participants will take an excursion to the island of Tabarca for snorkeling and to learn about the natural reserve's marine richness.
Additionally, all participants will receive a healthy lunch daily to promote balanced eating habits. 'Costa Summer 26' is a completely free initiative with limited places.
