The Orihuela Employment and Training Fair, taking place on October 21st, will place artificial intelligence at the center of the debate to guide young people in its professional and educational use.

The Orihuela City Council, through its Employment Promotion and Education departments, is organizing the fourth edition of the Employment and Training Fair on Wednesday, October 21st. The event, supported by the Provincial Council of Alicante, will focus on the use of new technologies in education and their application to the job market. It will be held at the La Lonja Auditorium between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Councilors Víctor Valverde (Employment Promotion) and Vicente Pina (Education) have presented the details of a day designed to help young people understand and use artificial intelligence effectively, both for improving their training and for accessing employment. Valverde highlighted the importance of understanding labor market changes and business expectations, while Pina emphasized the necessity of such fairs to address the current labor transformation.
The fair will begin at 9:00 AM with the opening of doors and the official inauguration at 9:30 AM. At 10:00 AM, Dolors Reig, a social psychologist expert in innovation and digital transformation, will deliver the keynote speech «Digital Transformation and Education: How to Enhance Human Intelligence». She will analyze the impact of new technologies and AI, advocating for it as a tool to learn better and develop skills, while acknowledging the risks.
At 12:00 PM, economist Andrés Pedreño, an expert in AI and the digital economy, will present «Learning, Entrepreneurship, and Surviving Artificial Intelligence: A Guide for Young People Fearless of the Future». He will explain how AI can improve learning and productivity, focusing on key competencies such as creativity and critical thinking.
The afternoon session will feature a participatory conference, «AI, Social Media, and Digital Presence: What Companies Look for in a Worker», led by Tony Gimeno, an engineer specializing in applied AI. Gimeno will detail how AI and social media influence selection processes and what digital skills companies currently demand, emphasizing the importance of personal digital branding.
The Fair, organized by the Orihuela City Council and the Local Employment and Development Agency (AEDL), with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Alicante, aims to provide young people with tools to adapt to a constantly changing job market.
