From today, September 2nd, until October 2nd, residents registered in Almoradí and over 16 years old have the opportunity to submit their investment proposals. Each initiative can have a limit of 20,000 euros.
The aim of this initiative is to foster citizen participation, transparency, and co-responsibility in public resource management. It seeks to create dialogue spaces to identify needs and find joint solutions. The most voted proposals will be integrated into the Municipal Budget and will be binding.
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Víctor Argilés, has encouraged residents to get involved, highlighting that participatory budgets are a tool to understand real needs and allow citizens to decide on actions that will improve the municipality.
Submitted proposals must be within the municipality's competence, be investment-oriented, respond to a public and collective interest, and be technically, economically, and legally viable, not exceeding 20,000 euros. They must have a duration longer than the budget year and not correspond to activities or subsidies.
Participation is open to all individuals registered in Almoradí aged 16 or over as of January 1, 2026. Participation can be done online through the municipal portal or in person at the Registry Office. The City Council will provide technical support to facilitate access to online tools.
After submission, a Committee will analyze the viability of the initiatives. Subsequently, a citizen voting period will open, both online and at physical locations. Selected proposals will be ordered by votes until the available budget is exhausted.
The process calendar includes proposal submission (September 2nd - October 2nd), evaluation (October 5th-7th), citizen voting (October 8th-22nd), and publication of results on October 26th.
The mayor of Almoradí, María Gómez, has emphasized that participatory budgets are a key tool for bringing municipal management closer to citizens, giving them a voice and decision-making power in projects that improve the municipality.
