For nine days, the streets and squares of Benicarló will host concerts, orchestras, DJs, afternoon parties, tribute acts, activities for all ages, gastronomy, events organized by local groups (peñas), and the anticipated bullfighting festivities. A major draw is that several headline concerts will be free of charge.
Music will resonate in various locations, including the main festival grounds, the MucBe gardens, the new stage at the Concepcionistas Franciscanas convent, the courtyard of CEIP Eduardo Martínez Ródenas, and the El Catxull Gastro Fest area. On Sunday, August 23rd, Duncan Dhu will celebrate their 40-year career. On Friday, August 28th, Pepet i Marieta will perform on their farewell tour, accompanied by Fulles Seques and Aigua Xirla. The night of Saturday, August 29th, will be dedicated to 90s music with Rebeca, Raúl, Ku Minerva, and Double Vision. The orchestra La Misión will perform on Tuesday, August 25th, at CEIP Eduardo Martínez Ródenas, also for free.
The musical program will be complemented by daily performances in various formats. The Concepcionistas Franciscanas convent debuts as a venue for intimate concerts, and the MucBe gardens will feature local artists. El Catxull Gastro Fest will continuously combine gastronomy and music, with hours extending into the early morning on some days, such as Sunday, August 23rd, with a tribute to Extremoduro.
Bullfighting traditions will take place from August 25th to 29th, featuring five days of 'Bous a la Mar' (bulls in the sea), bull-running nights, a closed-arena event, and a 'bou capllaçat' (bull on a rope) on Tuesday the 25th. Tickets for the stands will be available exclusively online.
The 'peñas' (local social groups) will play a key role with their own programming. This year, young people born in 2010 will be able to access the venue. Attendees are urged to enjoy the festivities with respect and responsible consumption.
The medieval market will return to the historic center on the final weekend (August 28th, 29th, and 30th), featuring around 70 craft and food stalls, hospitality services, and a children's area, along with shows and historical exhibitions.
Family and youth activities include Holy Colors, the Youth Festival Park, and the traditional Craft Fair. Benicarló promises nine days of festivities with a strong musical focus, but also space for gastronomy, traditions, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
