The Salem City Council has carried out work to open a section of the firebreak area on the Corral de Poldo path, as part of the 2026 Municipal Strategic Fund for forest fire prevention.

These actions aim to contribute to the maintenance and conservation of the forest environment, as well as to reduce vegetation load and improve safety conditions against the risk of forest fires.
The work was supported by a subsidy of €16,152.10, granted by the Conselleria de Medi Ambient, Infraestructures, Territori i Recuperació (Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure, Territory, and Recovery).
