The Ontinyent City Council has commenced renovation work to completely renew the roof of the Sant Rafel Integral Senior Center (CIM), enhancing the building's preservation and efficiency.

The project, supported by a 45,453.46 euro grant from the Ministry of Social Services, Family, and Childhood, covers the entire cost of the renovation. The Councilor for Territory, Óscar Borrell, emphasized the importance of these works for maintaining the condition of a facility vital to the Sant Rafel neighborhood and Ontinyent's elderly population.
Borrell highlighted that the investment is being made without any cost to the municipal budget, thanks to funding secured from the Generalitat Valenciana. The comprehensive roof renovation will improve the building's overall conditions, ensuring the continuity of its activities and services.
This aid is part of a regional funding line for renovating operational social service centers. Ontinyent successfully secured 100% of its requested amount in a call where only 12 municipalities across the Valencian Community were awarded grants out of 101 applications.
The Sant Rafel Integral Senior Center, opened in 2011, spans nearly 920 square meters and serves as a key hub for promoting active aging. Its facilities host numerous educational, social, cultural, and sports activities, alongside decentralized municipal services like teleassistance and home help.
