The Ontinyent City Council opened applications this Thursday, November 5th, for its sixth round of subsidies aimed at facilitating rental access for the city's youth, with funding of up to €100 per month.

These subsidies, part of the Ontinyent Youth Plan, will be valid for rent payments made between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. The initiative also aims to contribute to the revitalization of the Poble Nou and La Vila neighborhoods, giving them priority in the allocation.
Applications can now be submitted until November 19th. The Councilor for Youth, Àlex Borrell, highlighted the dual objective of the measure: to help young people facing difficulties in accessing rental housing and to boost the dynamism of specific areas of the city.
Priority has been given to properties located in the Poble Nou and La Vila neighborhoods, also considering the applicants' personal circumstances and income. Since its launch in 2021, over fifty young adults under thirty-five, registered in Ontinyent and with a rental contract for their primary residence, have benefited from this program.
Borrell recalled that these municipal subsidies are compatible with those from other administrations, unlike regional aid. Although aid from the Generalitat (Regional Government) is of greater value, the City Council maintains its commitment to supporting young people in housing matters, considering it a fundamental part of youth policies beyond leisure activities.
