The city of Ontinyent is preparing for an intense weekend dedicated to popular culture with the celebration of activities related to the 2026 Giants and Cabets Festival. The program, organized by the Association of Giants and Cabets of Ontinyent with the support of the City Council and other entities, consists of three main events: the 5th Ontinyent Giants and Cabets Gathering, the 3rd Bestiary Gathering, and the 9th Giants and Cabets Gathering.
The Councilor for Fairs, Festivals, and Traditions, Àngels Muñoz, highlighted the importance of the festival as a "very significant attraction point" that turns Ontinyent into the "festive epicenter" for Mediterranean giant and cabets groups. She thanked the Association for their work and recalled the municipal involvement in incorporating new figures and restoring costumes.
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Àlex Borrell, expressed the city's pride in hosting the event, noting that moving the first day to Friday will allow for concentrating the activity into an "especially intense" weekend with a "high influx of visitors".
The program will kick off on Friday, October 23rd, with the 5th Ontinyent Giants and Cabets Gathering. The gathering of participants will take place at 6:00 PM in the Plaça de la Concepció, from where the parade will depart at 6:30 PM towards the Plaça Major.

Finally, on Sunday, October 25th, the 9th Giants and Cabets Gathering will be celebrated. The figures will be set up in the Plaça de la Concepció at 10:00 AM, and the parade will start at 11:00 AM through Gomis and Maians streets to the Plaça Major.
