The 2026 'Cultura de Barri' program in Ontinyent has concluded with a notable public turnout, filling the planned venues and reinforcing its mission to bring culture to various neighborhoods during the summer.

The Generalitat Valenciana, through the Provincial Council of Valencia, has witnessed the 'Cultura de Barri' initiative in Ontinyent conclude another edition with a very positive public response. The activities, held mainly during July, have filled the designated spaces, consolidating the program as a municipal commitment to summer cultural dissemination.
The Councilor for Culture, Àlex Borrell, has expressed the council's satisfaction with the program's development. "Most of the activities have filled the squares," stated Borrell, an reception that "makes us very happy" and encourages continued work in this direction. The councilor also highlighted the importance of the involvement of local cultural associations, key participants in making this decentralized cultural offering a reality.
Among the most notable events, Borrell pointed out the zarzuela performance by Les Arts Volants of the Provincial Council of Valencia, which took place on Saturday, July 11th. This performance, featuring singers from the training center of the Palau de les Arts de València, gathered approximately 400 people in the parking lot of the Sala Gomis, offering a high-quality artistic proposal in a unique open-air format.
Another of the highlights of Cultura de Barri 2026 was the concert by the four bands of Ontinyent, held at the Explanda Tortosa y Delgado. This emotional event brought together over 800 attendees and featured the participation of the Societat Unió Artística Musical, the Agrupació Musical de Ontinyent, Tot per la Música, and the banda de la Vila. The concert served as a tribute to Mestre Ferrero on the centenary of his birth, with three parts conducted by Jordi Soler, Álvaro Gómez, and Juan Miguel Fayos, jointly performing the works of the Ontinyent composer.
The Councilor for Culture explained that the objective of Cultura de Barri is to complement the regular programming of the Teatre Echegaray and the Sala Gomis with summer outdoor events. In total, the program included around fifteen activities, adding proposals such as Verano Musical, Ontijazz, and the Cultura a la Fresca screenings.
