The Agullent City Council has expanded its forest brigade with the incorporation of ten new workers, thanks to the Generalitat Valenciana's EMERGE 2026 program, funded by the Valencian Employment and Training Service (LABORA).

The subsidy, amounting to 129,282.48 euros, has enabled the hiring of eight forest laborers and two foremen for six months on a full-time basis. These new personnel will be organized into two teams to ensure environmental safety and forest fire prevention within the municipality.
The EMERGE 2026 program targets local corporations in areas with a high risk of forest fires. Its objective is to promote the employment of unemployed individuals registered with LABORA, while simultaneously fostering the protection and conservation of the natural environment.
According to the program's guidelines, the work undertaken must primarily aim to mitigate or reduce a risk outlined in an emergency plan of the Valencian Community, with a particular focus on reducing population risks associated with forest fires.
Through this initiative, the Agullent City Council reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, job creation, and environmental prevention, thereby strengthening its dedication to the safety of its natural surroundings.
