The Potries Music Fest 2026 festival begins with a moving posthumous tribute to the Safor poet Josep Piera. The event will take place this Thursday, August 6th, at 7:30 PM at the Casa de la Cultura, in an afternoon dedicated to words, gastronomy, and music.
The "Recordant a Josep Piera" event includes an intimate encounter with Àngels Gregori and Joan Deusa, accompanied by the clarinet of Ausiàs Garrigós, to evoke the poet's words, vision, and legacy. Additionally, a tapas tasting from Restaurante Cassoleta will be offered, along with a concert by Pitxorines, who will revisit Mallorcan popular repertoire with a fresh perspective. Pitxorines' performance will be at 9 PM outside the Casa de la Cultura.
On Friday, August 7th, the Casa de la Cultura will host at 7:30 PM the performance of Momi Maiga with the kora, a traditional West African instrument, offering a journey through memory and emotion. At 9 PM, on Gandia street, the proposal of La Sarauà + Albéricas will take place, a shared celebration of popular music and tradition with free admission.
Saturday, August 8th, the main day of the festival, will start at the Parc de la Concordia at 12 PM with the family rock show "1, 2, 3… QUA!" by Ramonets, with free admission. In the afternoon, at 8 PM at the Casa de la Cultura, the virtuoso guitarist Ausiàs Parejo will offer an intimate concert. The day will conclude at 10 PM in the Plaça del País Valencià with the Sedajazz Latin Sextet & Tania Tania, a fusion of Latin tradition and jazz.
On Sunday, August 9th, the festival will close with Raquel Cruces at 12 PM at the Casa de la Cultura, revisiting popular songs with a new perspective. Additionally, on Saturday, Raquel Cruces will conduct a workshop on building a square frame drum at the Museu de Cassoleria Àngel Dominguez. The closing will be at 8:30 PM in the Parc de la Concordia with performances by Magalí Sare and Anna Andreu.
The Potries Music Fest was born in 2018, when the municipality was declared Valencian Cultural Capital, with the aim of democratizing access to quality musical proposals in rural areas. The festival seeks to combine music with the Mediterranean essence of the town, including disciplines such as ceramics, literature, and architectural heritage.
