Safor region maintains heat measures: pools open, activities suspended

The Safor region is maintaining preventive measures against the red heat alert, with extended municipal pool hours and suspension of outdoor activities.

The municipalities of Gandia, Oliva, Tavernes de la Valldigna, and the rest of the towns in La Safor will maintain the preventive measures activated due to the red alert for high temperatures that remains in effect this Wednesday. Weather forecasts indicate a persistence of extreme heat in the coming days.
In Gandia, access to the municipal pools of Beniopa and Roís de Corella will be free, and hours will be extended until 10:30 PM. The facilities will be open from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM and from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Municipal outdoor sports activities have been suspended. Additionally, the Corea and Joan Climent social centers, along with the Gandia Archaeological Museum (MAGa), will serve as climate shelters from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
In Oliva, outdoor activities at summer campuses and schools remain suspended, except for those held at pools or involving water games. Each school will communicate reorganizations to families.
In Tavernes de la Valldigna, forest surveillance will be reinforced, vulnerable individuals will be monitored, and the municipal pool will open free to the public from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, until capacity is reached. Non-aquatic outdoor activities have been canceled, and summer schools will move to covered spaces. It is recommended that minors bring double the usual amount of water.
Other municipalities such as Barx are extending their pool hours (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM), while Xeraco offers free access to its municipal pool.
