The Bellreguard City Council has ordered the temporary closure of the municipal swimming pool following an incident that forced the activation of a cleaning and disinfection protocol to ensure user health.

The measure, adopted to ensure the hygienic conditions of the space, coincides with a weekend of high temperatures. For this reason, residents will have to look for alternatives to combat the heat while the facility remains closed.
The council explained that the pool will not reopen until all disinfection tasks are completed and proper sanitary conditions can be guaranteed. The local government has apologized for the inconvenience and stated that they will announce the reopening of the service soon.
This event occurred just days after the municipality of Villalonga was also forced to close its aquatic facility after fecal matter was detected in the water. Authorities have called for civic responsibility and respect for public facilities, reminding that the proper use of these spaces is essential to avoid harm to the community.
