The award ceremony will take place on October 6th at the UPV's Gandia campus. This recognition, promoted by the university, highlights the dedication and commitment of teachers who have significantly impacted the academic and personal journeys of first-year UPV students, who are responsible for nominating the candidates.
The Magistrales program, now in its ninth edition, has honored nearly 300 teachers from across the Valencian Community. These include professionals in technical fields such as Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as humanities subjects like Language and History. The awardees represent diverse profiles, from early-career educators to those with extensive experience, working in public, private, and subsidized schools, with some even receiving the award multiple times.
This year's event at the Gandia campus holds special significance as it hosts the Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training, offered since the 2024-2025 academic year. This program equips future teachers for their profession in secondary education. The event thus connects the recognition of current educators with the training of future teaching professionals.
According to Vicenç Almenar, director of the Gandia campus, the high demand for the master's program will allow for an increase in places for the 2027-28 academic year in the Economics and Technology/Computer Science specializations, and the introduction of an English specialization.
The ceremony will commence at 6:00 PM in the campus's Aula Magna and will feature Fran Tudela, known as Cabrafotuda, a content creator and communicator. Prior to the main event, a session has been organized for master's students to share experiences and receive advice from volunteer recognized teachers.
