The Sueca City Council has completed accessibility improvement works in Sant Domènec square, replacing pavement to ensure safety and facilitate the use of public space.

The Urban Planning Department of the Sueca City Council has carried out conditioning works in Sant Domènec square with the aim of improving its accessibility. The filtering pavement in the walkable garden areas has been replaced with large-format concrete slabs, thus facilitating its use by citizens.
According to the Councilor for Urban Planning, Julio Serra, the use of the square after the previous renovation highlighted the inadequacy of the chosen filtering pavement in certain areas, such as near the bins and where exercise equipment is located. The concrete pieces, shaped like small cubes, had become exposed, making the pavement dangerous and impassable.
The councilor also pointed out that the access to the bins, previously located on the roadside, posed a risk to citizens due to the proximity of circulating cars. With this action, safety has been increased by modifying the access so that residents can dispose of waste from the square and by replacing the old concrete floor pieces that could cause falls.
The improvement and expansion of the square's useful surface area covers an area of 33 m² and had an approximate budget of 6,000 euros.
