The Cullera City Council has opened the registration period for the LXXIX 'Ciutat de Cullera' Music Band Contest, one of Spain's most long-standing events, which will take place on April 4, 2027.

Interested musical ensembles have until December 4, 2026, to submit their applications. This year, the compulsory piece for all participating bands will be «L’abric Lambert» by Francisco Martínez Gallego.
The contest increases its financial allocation, with a subsidy of €7,000 for participating bands, surpassing the €6,000 from the previous edition. In total, €23,000 will be awarded in prizes, including €10,000 for the First Prize and Special Jury Prize, €6,000 for the Second, and €5,000 for the Third. Additionally, the Best Parade Award will receive €2,000.
Registrations can be made through the City Council's electronic headquarters or by sending an email to casacultura@cullera.es. Non-professional music bands are eligible to participate, except for those belonging to professional Conservatories or Music Schools, or those formed solely for the occasion. The maximum number of participants will be three, with a draw held if more apply.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 4, 2027, at the Municipal Auditorium. It will include a preliminary parade of the bands, where they will perform a pasodoble of their choice, followed by two performances.
