The climate analysis conducted by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) reveals that the thermometer has recorded values close to 2 ºC above what is normal for this time of year. This upward trend has been noted in several municipalities, where significant thermal anomalies have been recorded, such as 2.3 ºC in Montserrat or 2.2 ºC in Sumacàrcer.
Regarding rainfall, the balance is one of evident drought. Although some records were made on the 5th, the rainfall has been insufficient and irregular. In towns like la Pobla Llarga, the rainfall deficit has reached 99% compared to the historical average for the 1991-2020 period.
Other parts of the region have also suffered from this lack of water, with deficit percentages hovering around 96% in municipalities such as Alginet, Polinyà del Xúquer, Alzira, and Carcaixent. Conversely, the Casella valley in Alzira has presented a slightly less severe situation, with a 63% deficit.
At the regional level, AEMET describes June 2026 as extremely warm and very dry. Experts point out that these figures align with the trend observed in recent years, characterized by a sustained increase in temperatures and a progressive reduction in rainfall during the summer months.
