This Tuesday, thermometers surpassed 38 °C in towns such as Requena, Montesa, el Genovés, Ontinyent, Canals, Pedreguer, and Villena, according to data from the Valencian Meteorology Association (Avamet). By early afternoon, highs of 38.9 °C were recorded in Requena.
Humidity played a key role in increasing the stuffiness, reaching over 90% in some locations. High percentages were recorded, including 91% on the island of Tabarca, 89% in Alicante, and 85% in Borriana, Santa Pola, Castellón de la Plana, and Altea.
The thermal sensation was particularly intense in Sumacàrcer (la Ribera Alta), where with a high of 38.4 °C, the sensation reached 49 °C. In Alzira, a high of 37.4 °C generated a sensation of 47 °C, while in Carlet, with 35 °C, the sensation was 45 °C.
Other municipalities recording high temperatures include Montesa (38.7 °C), el Genovés (38.6 °C), Ontinyent and Canals (38.4 °C), Pedreguer (38.1 °C), and Calles, Rafelguaraf, Llocnou d'en Fenollet, and Villena (38 °C).
