This afternoon, Alzira's Casa de la Cultura will host the presentation of the book L’assassinat de Guillem: mentides, feixistes i togues. The event will feature its author, Rafa Xambó, and the teacher and former mayor of the city, Diego Gómez.
Tomorrow, Friday, the cloister of the same Casa de la Cultura will host the traditional Sopar Estellés (Estellés Dinner), expecting around a hundred attendees. The evening will include the concert ‘Memòria en Flor’ by Joan Amèric, who will primarily perform new songs from his upcoming album. Tickets are still available for the event.
Also tomorrow, in the cloister of the Casa de la Cultura, the awards for the competition on the use of Valencian in local commerce will be presented. This year, the contest received nearly 15 entries.
Regarding initiatives extending over the next few weeks, the deadline to participate in the Sant Donís awards remains open until October 1st. These distinctions recognize creativity in categories for bakeries, letters, and drawings related to Alzira and the Valencian language, with prizes ranging from 300 to 700 euros.
The cultural program for the final quarter of the year will include new editions of Art al Carrer (Art in the Street) and the Jornades d’Il·lustració (Illustration Conferences), as well as literary awards and a concert for October 9th. On September 24th, the exhibition of works from the Premi Elisa Torremocha (Elisa Torremocha Award) will open, and the Murals als Barris (Murals in the Neighborhoods) project will be launched to enhance the city's urban walls.
