The central project of this celebration is the exhibition Alzira 1876–2026: 150 years building a city, which features two distinct formats. One edition is specifically designed to tour the city's schools during the 2026-2027 academic year, having started its journey at the CEE Carmen Picó on September 9th.
The second edition of the exhibition will be installed in various cultural spaces, including the Casa de Cultura, the Library, La Clau, the MUMA, and the Town Hall, ensuring that citizens can learn about the urban and social evolution of Alzira over the last century and a half.
Furthermore, the Els documents d’un rei series will continue on September 24th with the lecture Jaume I, the birth of Valencian currency, delivered by expert Joan Antoni Sendra. This activity will delve into the creation of the local monetary system after the conquest and its role as an element of political and economic identity.
The day will conclude with the opening of an exhibition of the same name at the Municipal Archive Exhibition Hall, which will remain open until November 22nd. The display features original coins, including the carrer de Santos collection, and reproductions of the Aureum Opus to contextualize the territory's historical wealth.
