Algemesí Kicks Off Mare de Déu de la Salut Festivities with Novena and Rehearsals
The city begins the pre-celebration events with the novena and public rehearsals of traditional dances.

The city of Algemesí begins the pre-celebration events for the Mare de Déu de la Salut Festivities this Saturday, August 29th, with the start of the novena and public rehearsals of the dances.
The religious novena will commence each night at 10:00 PM in the Capella de la Troballa and its surroundings, continuing until Sunday, September 6th. During this period, rehearsals for the various groups participating in the procession will take place in different parts of the city, offering residents a glimpse of the preparatory work.
The 'Ball de les Llauradores' will open the schedule of public rehearsals on Sunday, August 30th, in Carrer Goya. The following day, Monday the 31st, the 'Tornejants' will rehearse in Carrer Sant Isidre Llaurador, while the 'Gegants i Cabuts' will perform in Plaça de la Ribera.
The program continues on Tuesday, September 1st, with the 'Nova Muixeranga' in Plaça Ideal Terrassa. On Wednesday, September 2nd, the 'Muixeranga d’Algemesí' will resume activities with a rehearsal in Carrer Sant Dionís.
On Thursday, September 3rd, the 'Bastonets' will rehearse in Carrer Sant Pius X. Later, the 'Schola Cantorum' will conduct its preparation in the Basilica of Sant Jaume Apòstol, and the 'Societat Musical' will do the same at the Casal Fester.
On Friday, September 4th, coinciding with the seventh day of the novena, rehearsals will begin at 6:30 PM with the 'Pastoretes' in Carrer Santa Bàrbara. Subsequently, the 'Carxofa i els Arquets' will dance in the same street, and the 'Misteris i Martiris' will perform their roles in Carrer Mossèn Blanch.
The evening will continue with the 'Volants' in Plaça Major. At 8:30 PM, the 'Cant de l’Apostolat' will take place at Porta de l’Aire, and the 'Danses d’Algemesí' will fill Carrer Sant Jaume Apòstol with dancers during their rehearsal.
On the morning of Saturday, September 5th, the 'Plega General' will bring the music of the 'tabal' and 'dolçaina' through the streets. In the evening, the XXXIX 'Dansà' to the Mare de Déu de la Salut will be held, organized by the Grup de Danses Berca and the EMTiD, starting from the Capella de la Troballa to Plaça Major.
Finally, Sunday, September 6th, the last day of the novena, will include the 'Repic General' from the bell tower of the Basilica of Sant Jaume and the 'Cercavila de l’Antevespra'. At 10:45 PM, the 'Misteris i Martiris' will be performed at the Capella de la Troballa, followed by a concert by the Banda Simfònica d’Algemesí in Plaça Major.
The 'Nit del Retorn', featuring the 'Toc del Retorn', the Angelus, salutes of honor, and a fireworks display, will conclude the events preceding the main processions.
