This financial aid, from the Social Welfare area of the Diputación, will allow the municipality to carry out part of the annual rodent control, disinfection, and pest extermination work. These actions are fundamental to ensure the sanitation of public spaces and prevent the proliferation of pests, especially in the municipal sewage system.
The work carried out during the 2026 campaign has helped control and reduce the population of rodents and American cockroaches in Castelló's sewage system, achieving tolerable levels. According to the evaluation of the actions, the treatments applied and the means used have been adequate to reduce the presence of these pests.
The service has been provided by qualified personnel with experience in pest control, in accordance with the technical specifications. Another highlight of the campaign was the use of environmentally friendly and safe products and application methodologies, aiming to balance treatment effectiveness with the protection of public health and the environment.
With this subsidy, the Castelló City Council continues to promote pest prevention and control actions, contributing to the maintenance of adequate hygiene and sanitation conditions and the well-being of citizens.
