The Utiel City Council, through its Social Services, has launched a new edition of the Workshops for Non-Professional Caregivers, which will take place from November 9 to 23, 2026, at the Casa de Cultura.

The training, accredited by the Conselleria de Servicios Sociales, Familia e Infancia of the Generalitat Valenciana, is aimed at non-professional caregivers who look after dependent individuals and receive the economic benefit for care within the family environment. Participants have been previously selected and invited.
These workshops are part of Law 39/2006 on Personal Autonomy and Care for Dependent Persons. They are among the municipal actions aimed at improving the quality of life for both dependent individuals and their daily caregivers.
The initiative seeks to strengthen support, training, and accompaniment resources for those who care for family members in situations of dependency. Training is considered a fundamental tool for providing information, guidance, and knowledge to enable them to carry out their work under better conditions and prevent physical and emotional overload.
The training program is divided into four modules: existing resources and network generation, personal development, skills and abilities for care, and dependency due to illness. In addition to providing practical tools, the workshops aim to foster the exchange of experiences and the creation of mutual support networks.
Through these activities, the Utiel City Council expands social resources that promote personal autonomy and comprehensive family care, reinforcing the role of municipal Social Services as an access point for citizen support programs.
