The town of Utiel commemorated yesterday the feast of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of the Civil Guard, coinciding with the celebration of the National Holiday.

The official events began with a Solemn Mass at the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. The religious service was attended by the Mayor of Utiel, Ricardo Gabaldón, and the Mayor of Venta del Moro, Luis Francisco López, along with members of the municipal corporation. A representation of the Civil Guard post in Utiel, led by Sergeant Commander Francesc Peris, also attended, as did numerous local residents.
Following the religious ceremony, the celebration moved to the courtyard of Casa Alamanzón, where an institutional reception was held. The gathering was marked by an atmosphere of camaraderie and solemnity, with toasts and cheers to the Virgen del Pilar, the Civil Guard, and Spain on its National Day.
The Utiel City Council has expressed its recognition to the Civil Guard for the daily work they carry out in the municipality. The municipal corporation reaffirms its gratitude for the dedication, proximity, and commitment of the officers to the safety and well-being of Utiel's citizens.
