The House of Culture in Utiel hosted an informative session on Monday focused on the damage caused by rabbits to crops, with significant attendance from the agricultural, hunting, and affected sectors. The session was presided over by the mayor of Utiel, Ricardo Gabaldón, accompanied by the Director General of Natural and Animal Environment of the Generalitat Valenciana, Luis Gomis Ferraz; the Councilor for Agriculture, Aitor Iniesta; the regional chief of Environmental Agents, José García García, and the environmental technician of the City Council, Carlos Ramos.
Practical aspects were discussed, including civil liability for damages to farms, the legal obligations of hunting ground owners, and the procedures to follow in cases of inaction by them.
Special emphasis was placed on local collaboration and coordination for sustainable management, aiming to unite efforts and reduce the impact of wildlife on Utiel's agriculture.
