The Civil Guard has arrested a 62-year-old man in Chiva carrying various narcotics and two pen-like devices capable of firing, during a security operation for the town's patron saint festivities.

The incident occurred on August 17th when a patrol noticed an individual acting evasively near the festival grounds. The man attempted to hide a backpack, which was later inspected by officers.
Inside the backpack, officers found nearly 20 grams of cocaine, approximately 100 grams of hashish, MDMA pills, 140 euros in cash, and one of the modified pens designed to fire .22 caliber ammunition. During the apprehension, the detainee offered strong resistance, injuring an officer.
Subsequently, a search of the arrested man's vehicle revealed a second pen-gun and three cartridges of the same caliber. The man faces charges related to public health offenses, illegal possession of weapons, and serious resistance to authority.
The conducted proceedings have been submitted to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Requena.
