The initial events, held on Saturday, September 26th, and Sunday, September 27th, included an Oktoberfest prelude, peña dinners, bingo, corral raffles, and dancing with the orchestra La Kinky Band, followed by a DJ set. Sunday was dedicated to the 'Día de la Montà' (Day of the Mounting), with the setup of the corrals.
The Councilor for Festivals, Maria Teresa Alemany, highlighted the successful start and thanked everyone involved. "We have begun the festivities with great enthusiasm and a very good atmosphere. Now we have many days ahead to enjoy, and we want to encourage residents, peñas, and visitors to participate in the events and experience the Sant Antoni celebrations with respect, joy, and coexistence," she stated.
The main program will commence this Friday, October 2nd, with the 'Día del Xupinasso' (Day of the Starting Gun), which will include the gathering and entry of peñas, music, dinner, and at midnight, the proclamation and starting gun from the Town Hall balcony. The night will continue with a 'remember' party.
Sunday, October 4th, the feast day of Sant Antoni, Moncofa's patron saint, will be one of the central days. The day will combine tradition and religious acts with the rest of the festive program, including a paella contest, a musical performance by the group Gen Z, a mass in honor of the patron saint, a fireworks display, and the 'Nit d’Albaes' (Night of Albaes).
Another notable date will be Friday, October 9th, coinciding with the celebration of the Day of the Valencian Community. The day will feature activities such as a popular breakfast, a 'tir i arrossegament' (a traditional Valencian sport), the institutional act for October 9th, Valencian pilota games, a procession with 'dolçaines i tabals' (traditional wind instruments), a 'correfoc' (fire run), dancing with the orchestra Monkey Band, and the traditional 'sopar de calderes' (cauldron dinner).
The celebrations will extend until Monday, October 12th, with the traditional mass in honor of Our Lady of the Pillar, featuring the participation of the Civil Guard, the festival queen and her court, and the municipal corporation. A 'vi d'honor' (toast of honor) will be offered afterward, marking the end of several days of festivities in Moncofa.
The program for the Sant Antoni festivals in Moncofa 2026 will combine bullfighting events, children's activities, music, gastronomy, contests, religious celebrations, costume events, and traditional proposals.
