The evolution of the wildfire in Vall d’Uixó continues to be complicated by smoke, high temperatures, and access difficulties for firefighting teams. Meanwhile, aerial resources from the operation are using the facilities of the new water park, still closed due to pending works, to refill water.
A video shared by the City Council shows a helicopter landing near one of the pools to fill its tank and head towards the fire zone. This image is striking, as the park, intended as a family leisure space, is providing its first major service before opening to the public.
The head of the operation, Fernando Pérez, explained that the affected area exceeds 8,500 hectares. Thermal inversion has hindered visibility for some aerial resources, but helitransported units have been able to operate in the most critical zones, such as the Alcúdia de Veo-Tales-Benitandús axis, Alfondeguilla, and the surroundings of Montí de Onda.
Pérez warned that the absence of visible flames might create a false sense of security, as the fire retains its potential for reactivation. The water park, covering over 5,000 square meters, still needs to complete works and technical checks before its opening, for which a definitive date has not yet been set.
