The Generalitat Valenciana has launched a new aid program with 270,000 euros to strengthen the cultural ties of Valencians living outside the Valencian Community with their homeland. These subsidies, which could be increased by an additional 40,000 euros if necessary, are intended to finance operating costs and activities that promote Valencian culture.
The aid is aimed at Valencian centers officially recognized by CEVEX, the organization that groups Valencian centers abroad. The intention is to promote an equitable distribution of the grants, which will be awarded based on the nature of the projects and the geographical location of the establishments. Interested parties have a period of twenty days to apply.
250,000 euros will be allocated to programs presenting an annual activity plan, including the dissemination of Valencian culture and stories, the promotion of tourism, initiatives focused on youth, and the current expenses for their social headquarters. Emphasis will also be placed on highlighting the traditions and economic activities of the Community.
The remaining 20,000 euros, expandable by another 10,000, will focus on assisting with visits to the Valencian Community during major festivals such as the Fallas of Valencia, the Hogueras of San Juan in Alicante, or the Festes de la Magdalena in Castellón. This line will contribute to financing travel expenses for two people per center.
The awarding of grants will consider the cultural interest of the project, budgetary viability, and the center's previous activities. Projects that encourage the participation of young descendants of Valencians, incorporate a gender perspective, and utilize information technologies to connect with the Valencian Community will be positively valued.
