The president of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has announced an aid package totaling 67 million euros to mitigate the consequences of the forest fire affecting Vall d'Uixó (Castellón) since last Saturday. Of this amount, 12 million will be for direct aid, 5 million for municipalities, and 50 million for subsidized loans.
The fire, which has so far burned 9,600 hectares, has prompted the provision of aid directed at families who have lost their homes, vehicle owners affected, self-employed individuals, businesses, companies, and workers whose activity has been interrupted, as well as farmers, ranchers, and beekeepers.
The president assured that the aid "will arrive quickly and easily" and can be applied for from August 10th for a period of three months.
Specifically, direct aid includes 20,000 euros for those affected who have lost their homes due to total destruction, 15,000 euros for structural damage, and 6,000 euros for houses with minor damage. Additionally, 3,000 euros will be granted for furniture damage and 800 euros for relocation expenses.
