The night from this Wednesday to Thursday will go down in Valencian meteorological history as one of the warmest, marked by a westerly wind described as "dantesque." According to provisional data from the Valencian Meteorology Association (Avamet), the city of Valencia recorded the highest minimum temperature at 32.5°C.
Other locations such as La Vilavella, Alboraya, Benifairó de la Valldigna, Tavernes de la Valldigna, Xàtiva, and la Vall d’Uixó also surpassed 32°C. The minimums were suffocating in towns like Albal, el Genovés, Dénia, Massanassa, Oliva, Vilallonga, Godella, Gandia, Aldaia, Xirivella, Paiporta, or Pego, where thermometers exceeded 31°C.
At midnight, nearly a hundred municipalities in the Valencian territory registered temperatures above 35°C. Locations such as Valencia, Quart de Poblet, Picanya, Tavernes de la Valldigna, Parcent, Redovà, Benirredrà, La Vilavella, Gandia, Oliva, Cullera, Pego, Pedreguer, Favara, Corbera, Orba, Sagra, Dénia, and el Ràfol d'Almúnia exceeded 37°C.
The situation worsened in areas like Nules, in la Plana Baixa, where at 01:06 AM, a temperature of 37.3°C was recorded, the highest of the year in the municipality. In La Vilavella and Betxí, temperatures reached 38°C, while in la Vall d’Uixó and the southern part of Onda's term, 36°C were registered.
The heat is not easing today. According to data from the State Meteorological Agency, numerous locations already exceed 30°C. At 08:00 AM, Xàtiva was already registering 33°C.
