Construction work on the future IES Palafangues in Moncofa has officially started, with a budget of 14.3 million euros and an expected execution period of 20 months.

Machinery is now working on the site where the future IES Palafangues in Moncofa will be built. The awarded company, Llop Proyectos Integrales, has begun the initial earthmoving, marking the project's entry into its execution phase. The educational infrastructure is expected to be ready within 20 months, thus meeting the municipality's educational needs.
In recent weeks, work has focused on preparing the land, including the installation of perimeter fencing. This measure is particularly important given the plot's proximity to the urban center of Moncofa beach and a large shopping area, zones with significant foot traffic. Furthermore, part of the land was previously used as temporary parking, so the enclosure ensures safety.
The mayor, Wences Alós, has highlighted the importance of the project progressing according to the established deadlines, noting that work will continue until mid-2028, the planned completion date. Initial activities include earthmoving and site preparation, crucial for the subsequent foundation and construction of the center.
Aware of the traffic in the area, especially during the summer, the Moncofa City Council has coordinated a specific route for heavy vehicles with the construction company to minimize disruption and ensure road safety. With the start of earthmoving, the project fully enters its execution phase, a milestone anticipated by the educational community and citizens.
