The initiative, which is part of the European #EUBeachCleanup campaign, reaches its third consecutive edition in the city this year, reinforcing Burriana's commitment to coastal conservation. The event will take place at 11:00 AM and expects the participation of approximately 250 people.
Participants are expected to include students from the European Parliament Ambassador and Mentor Schools in the province and Burriana, members of local surf and windsurf clubs, various community associations, and individual residents. During the event, necessary materials will be provided to remove waste from the coastline, aiming to promote the reduction of single-use plastics and encourage responsible consumption habits.
The #EUBeachCleanup campaign is an international project promoted by the European Union to protect the marine ecosystem through local awareness and citizen action. Individuals interested in participating, whether individually, as a family, or in groups, can register for free via the official event form.
The Councilor for Environment, Noelia Peris, highlighted the importance of connecting local action with European environmental values. "Caring for our beaches is everyone's task," she stated, emphasizing that with the involvement of the Provincial Council of Castellón, Reciplasa, educational centers, and local entities, Burriana serves as an example of sustainable development and waste reduction. Therefore, she encouraged "all residents to join this day to continue making our beaches a cleaner and more nature-respecting space".
