The contract, aimed at maximizing the city's response and drainage capacity against intense rainfall, is valued at 32,468.63 euros annually and has a term of two years, extendable for another two. This service focuses on the technical supervision and preventive maintenance of key facilities for controlling floods and wastewater.
The included infrastructures are the drainage system of la Serratella, the automatic gates of the Séquies pumping station, and the EBAR Mediterráneo 3 pumping station. The Serratella system, which involved an investment of over one million euros, features two Archimedes screws capable of evacuating 2,900 liters per second and has already proven its effectiveness during previous storms.
All these facilities will be continuously operational and monitored through the SCADA remote control system of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (EDAR), enabling immediate alerts and ensuring rapid action by specialized personnel 24 hours a day.
The Councilor for Public Works, Mario Trullén, highlighted the importance of this contract for ensuring the performance of the infrastructure protecting the coastline and neighborhoods against torrential rains, offering peace of mind to the residents of Burriana.
