The Borriana City Council has officially joined the Comunitat Valenciana Smoke-Free Beach Network, while simultaneously upgrading the signage across its entire coastline.

This initiative, promoted by the Regional Ministry of Health and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, aims to protect users and the environment from the harmful effects of tobacco. As a symbol of this commitment, the municipality has raised the flag identifying its beaches as smoke-free and aerosol-free zones, a measure that will remain in effect for three years.
At the same time, the local government has completed a comprehensive renovation of the information infrastructure at access walkways. The new posts feature QR codes that allow beachgoers to access the tourism website to check the summer activity schedule, learn about local history, and obtain details on services available along each stretch of the coast.
This technological upgrade, which complements the Navilens codes installed last year, provides real-time information on accessibility for people with reduced mobility, the location of foot showers, and lifeguard services, thereby improving the experience for both visitors and residents.
