The Burriana City Council has started the tender process for the construction of the new Port Primary Care Center, a key infrastructure for the maritime area.

The Burriana City Council has signed the decree that formally initiates the tender process for the construction of the New Burriana-Puerto Primary Care Center. This health infrastructure, intended to meet the growing demand in the maritime district, will serve over 7,000 residents in the area. Interested companies have until September 15th to submit their proposals.
The simplified open award procedure will evaluate both the economic offer and technical improvements in sustainability, deadline reduction, preventive maintenance, and the use of eco-labeled materials in construction. The process begins after the approval in an Extraordinary Plenary Session of the modification of annualities and multi-year spending percentages, a necessary step to coordinate municipal management with contributions from the Conselleria de Sanitat (Health Department), which fully finances the project with 1,999,892.42 euros.
The investment will be distributed over three years: 112,079 euros for 2026, 1,344,948 euros for 2027, and 560,394 euros for 2028. This budgetary adjustment will allow on-site work to begin between late October and early November, after the signing of the site survey report.
With this tender, the municipal executive responds to a historical demand from the Port Residents Association, which had been requesting health improvements in the coastal area since 2020. The new building will avoid unnecessary travel to the town center and improve access to healthcare for users in the maritime zone, which has experienced significant population growth to 41,000 inhabitants.
The center will feature a Family Medicine Area with medical and nursing consultations, a multifunctional consultation room for social work, an Extraction and Treatment Area, a Pediatrics Area with specific consultations, and an Emergency Area equipped for vital care.

"With the start of this tender, we take a decisive step towards making a historical demand of the Port residents a reality. We thus fulfill our promise and provide the maritime district with modern health services, in line with the great growth Burriana has experienced, preventing our residents from having to travel to the town center to receive the primary care they deserve."
