The Oropesa del Mar City Council, together with the Societat Orpesina de Cultura (SOC), has agreed to initiate the process to request the designation of Fiesta de Interés Turístico Autonómico for La Trobà d’Orpesa, which will celebrate its 25th edition next May 2027.

This designation, the highest attainable for such an event in the Valencian Community, arrives at a pivotal moment for the festival, which has held the Fiesta de Interés Turístico Provincial status since 2023. The application is submitted with the upcoming 25th anniversary in mind, celebrated from Friday, April 30th to Sunday, May 1st, 2027.
La Trobà d’Orpesa has seen significant growth since its inception, expanding from around twenty stalls to over two hundred. The event has extended its route through the historic center, now encompassing streets such as Doctor Clara, Leoncio Serrano, Ramón y Cajal, Castellón, and Ribera Forner, transforming the heart of Oropesa del Mar into a major showcase for craftsmanship, traditional trades, and Valencian popular culture. This expansion has been accompanied by a growing influx of visitors from various Spanish provinces and internationally.
The collaboration between the Oropesa del Mar City Council and the Societat Orpesina de Cultura (SOC), which celebrates its own 25th anniversary this year, has been crucial in maintaining the authenticity and cultural rigor of La Trobà. The coincidence of both 25th anniversaries reinforces the symbolic significance of this moment.
Achieving the Fiesta de Interés Turístico Autonómico designation would represent a qualitative leap in projection and visibility for the event and the municipality, positioning it among the most relevant celebrations in the Valencian Community and promoting a model of sustainable cultural tourism that complements the sun and beach offerings.
