The Castellón Fire Service has mobilized a support unit to collaborate in rescue and emergency response efforts following floods in the Safor and La Marina Alta regions.
The deployment follows the activation of the Special Plan for Flood Risk in the Valencian Community and a request from the Generalitat Valenciana, which sought collaboration from fire services not directly impacted by the emergency. The aim is to provide support to the fire consortia of Valencia and Alicante, who are working intensively in the most affected areas.
The decision was made after an emergency coordination meeting of the Generalitat Valenciana. This mobilization allows for reinforcing interventions in areas requiring greater operational capacity, thanks to the support procedure between the fire services of the Valencian Community.

"From Castellón, we place our resources and personnel at the disposal of the Generalitat Valenciana to collaborate in whatever is necessary in the towns affected by particularly intense rains in the provinces of Valencia and Alicante, with historic accumulations in the Safor and La Marina Alta regions. Ensuring good coordination and rapid response capability is key in emergency situations like this."
The unit mobilized from Castellón includes two light all-terrain vehicles, a heavy rural fire engine 4x4, a heavy load vehicle 4x4, and two shallow-draft boats for rescuing people. A coordination sergeant for the Command Post has also been deployed, along with an intervention team consisting of a sergeant, a corporal, and ten firefighters.
The personnel and equipment departed this morning from the fire station heading to Oliva, where the reception center for resources has been established to coordinate their integration into the emergency operations.

"Collaboration between administrations and emergency services in the face of situations of this magnitude is fundamental. Faced with an emergency like this, coordination and response capacity are essential to help affected individuals and facilitate the work of the teams intervening on the ground. Our firefighters are prepared to provide this support with the utmost professionalism and commitment."
With this deployment, the Castellón Fire Service joins the regional response effort to bolster rescue operations and ensure the necessary operational support in the aftermath of the floods in the Valencian Community.
