This financial aid will enable the provision of professional care services for children up to 16 years old, as well as the continuation of activities during non-school periods. According to the council, the funds can also be used to create employment in the care sector and to carry out training and awareness actions on co-responsibility.
Among the eligible initiatives are morning and afternoon schools, along with programs and activities organized during summer, Easter, and Christmas holidays. The Corresponsables Plan aims to implement professional childcare services to support families needing to balance their work or study schedules with caring for their children.
The mayor of Benicàssim, Susana Marqués, highlighted that this contribution will help to further strengthen the municipality's conciliation resources, particularly during periods without school activities. Marqués also linked these measures to equality policies, believing that conciliation services contribute to a more equitable distribution of caregiving tasks.
The grant will support various existing child and adolescent care options in the town, such as morning and afternoon schools and holiday activities. Furthermore, during August, the Casal Jove youth center has been open in the mornings with activities for young people aged 12 to 16. The Councilor for Youth, Carlos Martínez, noted that the funds will expand care and attention options for minors, adapting them to family needs.
A portion of the €49,551.83 will also be allocated to fostering job creation in the care services sector and promoting training and awareness in co-responsibility for a balanced distribution of family and domestic responsibilities. The council has not specified the number of jobs to be funded or the exact number of beneficiaries.
