The event, themed ‘Make the match with your mental health’, aims to provide tools and support to families of individuals with mental health issues. It will feature psychiatrist Alberto Gadea, along with the technical team from SASEM and representatives from ASAME.
The activity is designed as a space for listening and accompaniment, where families can raise questions and concerns, seeking professional guidance for daily challenges. The goal is to offer practical tools to improve coexistence and support for individuals with mental health problems, while also addressing the needs of caregivers.
The event is part of the commemoration of World Mental Health Day (October 10th), a date dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mental well-being, combating stigma, and promoting access to information and resources.
Topics will include family support and the care of caregivers themselves, emphasizing the importance of recognizing personal needs and seeking help. The session aims to foster a trusting environment for open discussion about mental health.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Marisa Cortés, highlighted the fundamental role of families as the basic pillar in caring for individuals with mental health issues, stressing the need for institutional support and understanding.
The City Council encourages interested family members and caregivers to participate to resolve doubts with professionals and learn about daily support strategies.
