The L'Alfàs del Pi City Council has renewed its collaboration agreement with the association Huellas de Mujer, allocating 5,000 euros to promote activities that highlight women's contributions in various cultural and social fields.

The agreement strengthens the municipal effort to recover and recognize the female presence throughout history and to foster reflection on equality in contemporary society. The signing was attended by the mayor, Vicente Arques; the Equality Councilor, Laura Sevilla; the president of Huellas de Mujer, Vera Waldorff; and the association's secretary, Nuria García.
The association Huellas de Mujer, founded in 2016, aims to give visibility to women who have contributed to the development of culture and science, recovering female role models and promoting critical thinking for a more egalitarian society.
Among its initiatives are collaborations with the L'Alfàs del Pi Film Festival, featuring an award for the best short film directed by women, and a Feminist Reading Club that analyzes literary works from a gender perspective. It also promotes projects like HuellArtsDigital and awareness activities for children and youth through theater and storytelling.
One of the upcoming highlighted activities is the conference ‘Sexist Violence from a Feminist and Intergenerational Perspective’, to be held on Friday, October 30th, from 5:45 PM to 8:30 PM, at the Casa de Cultura of L'Alfàs del Pi. The event will feature philosopher Ana de Miguel, writer Beatriz Gimeno, and trade unionist María Aránzazu Luque.
The conference will include a talk by Ana de Miguel on 'Violence Against Women: Old Patterns and New Forms', followed by a panel discussion with Beatriz Gimeno and María Aránzazu Luque on the challenges of feminism and combating violence. The event will conclude with an open dialogue for the public.
The program also includes a performance by the female choir En-Canto. Admission to the conference is free, but prior registration is required due to capacity limits, available through an online form.
