The publication compiles contributions from individuals and groups involved in organizing the deeply rooted local festivals. The presentation was attended by Mayor Vicente Arques, Councillor for Festivals and Traditions Sandra Gómez, parish priest Juan Vicente Ferrando, festival representatives including Andrea Alonso (President of the 2026 Mayorales from Penya l’Impacte) and Miguel Ángel Díaz (Vice President of the Santíssim Crist del Bon Encert Association), the Queen and her Court of Honour, along with numerous residents and authorities.
Mayor Vicente Arques highlighted that the celebrations blend tradition and devotion with joy and fun. He emphasized the renovation of the main square and the creation of a new pedestrian zone, a more accessible space that will host the procession of the Christ of Good Fortune. Councillor for Festivals, Sandra Gómez, underscored the commitment of the 2026 Mayorales and the work of all involved, particularly thanking Penya l’Impacte for taking on this responsibility and acknowledging the collaboration of various associations, municipal departments, Local Police, Civil Protection, and supporting entities.
Parish priest Juan Vicente Ferrando recalled the religious significance of the festivities, encouraging reflection, gratitude, and hope, and inviting attendees to experience them with fraternity. Shortly before, the mayor and the councillor had received the Queen and her retinue, as well as the 2026 Mayorales, at the Town Hall.
The Jubilee and Christ of Good Fortune Festivals will take place from November 7th to 10th, featuring a program that includes children's attractions, musical performances, correfocs, contests, parades, dances, and refreshments. This year's edition involves 44 'peñas' (local clubs) and around a thousand festival participants, demonstrating strong community involvement and the deep-rooted nature of celebrations that fill the streets of l’Alfàs.
